What if we took different passages from the Old and New Testament and read them as a church community each day of the week? What if we read these Scriptures together each week, and then asked ourselves specific questions, as a way to understand how God is speaking to us through them?
What if, at the end of the week, we were to look back and consider the various ways God spoke to us from those different Bible passages? What if we were to identify ways the passages INTERSECT, and reinforce a common message God is speaking to us for that week?
This is the Intersection Bible Study method, which we will be using during the season of Advent. On Monday – Thursday, we will read a passage, located in the designated squares on the worksheet. We’ll then ask ourselves the questions from the bubbles at the bottom of the worksheet, and jot down our answers in the squares provided, or in a separate journal. Then, on Friday, we’ll look back on what we wrote during the week, and identify how the message from the different passages INTERSECT, reinforcing something together that we are hearing from God.
Each Sunday, beginning November 29th, we’ll provide the INTERSECTION worksheet for the week. Each day, Monday through Friday, we’ll read the Scriptures together. Plus, we will have a video post each day of someone from our church community reading the Scriptures and sharing their answers to the questions in the bubbles. The worksheet and these videos will be posted on our YouTube page, as well as on our community Facebook and Instagram pages.
Let’s allow this time of Advent to be powerful for us as a community, as we read the Word of God together and discover what He desires to speak into our hearts.
