Christmas Giving Opportunities
The Giving Tree Project
Christmas gifts will be collected for families and individuals with special needs, both within the church and the community, to touch them with the joy of Christmas and let them know we care.
NEED: Please take a gift tag from the Christmas Giving Tree near the Welcome Center and return it with the requested gift.
NEED: Helpers to pack and distribute baskets and gifts.
Food Baskets for Harford County Neighbors
Once again, we will be giving boxes of groceries to house-bound seniors and local families who are looking at a bleak Christmas without our help.
Opportunity: Help us restock the Seniors’ pantries and provide each of the families with all the fixings they need to prepare Christmas Dinner by donating food items and cash for perishable items.
NEED: Please bring in food items as requested.
(Special items will be listed on the Christmas Basket Tree.)
NEED: Helpers to pack and deliver baskets.
Groceries for Needy Families in Honduras
What do families need most in the area in which our Work & Witness Team will be serving in Honduras at the end of the month???
NEED: The answer is FOOD! We have been told that $200 buys 50 lbs. of food (staples) for 20 families.
OPPORTUNITY: Help us reach out to these families in a way that says, “We love you and we care.” And our prayer is that they will want to know more about the Jesus, who sent us to them. Please mark your donation: Groceries for Honduras.
Project Hope ∙ A Christmas Blessing for the Children of Honduras
This past summer, youth groups from our Bel Air Church and the Hagerstown Church had the opportunity to minister in Siguatepeque, Honduras. The children they met truly touched their hearts.
NEED: Many of the children are unable to go to school, due to a lack of resources to buy school supplies and school uniforms.
OPPORTUNITY: The goal of Project Hope is to sponsor 120 children. The cost to sponsor a child for a whole year is $62 (supplies and uniform included). These items will be purchased in Honduras. A donation in any amount will be a blessing and help give a child in Honduras hope for the future. Please mark your donation: Project Hope.
A Laptop for Moises
Many know that Moises, the son of Pastor Rigoberto from Siguatepeque in Honduras, has been able to start his 1st year of college through the Love Offerings of our young adults.
NEED: As he approaches his 2nd semester, he needs a laptop computer at a cost of $500-$600 to keep up with his studies.
OPPORTUNITY: Please help a young man, who desires to learn so he can better serve the Lord by marking your gift: Laptop for Moises.
Drops of Love
Through Drops of Love Ministry in Guatemala City, 96 children and youth living in extreme poverty are finding love, a hot meal, help with homework, encouragement to stay in school, and medical care. Best of all, they are learning about Jesus.
NEED: The ministry is dependent on donations for food, school supplies, medical costs and transportation for the children as well as living expenses for the young couple leading the ministry.
OPPORTUNITY: By giving a donation, you are giving a child of despair, a hope and a future. Please mark your donation: Drops of Love.
Children’s Christmas Project
HCDC Children are collecting coins to continue sponsoring Richard Timon Biswos from Bangladesh and Lizbeth Chuintam of Peru. Any ¢¢¢ contributed provides nutritious meals & educational opportunities through the Child Sponsorship Program.
Cash Donations
As you can see, the NEEDS are great and the OPPORTUNITIES many. If you are undecided what to do… a cash donation for “Christmas Giving”, either designated or undesignated will always be appreciated and will enable us to help shine Jesus’ light into a dark and weary world.
