FAITH PROMISE is what we call the funds we use (beyond what our community tithes) specifically to help ministries locally and internationally. To learn more, click on the video to the right and watch Brittanie Cochran give a great explanation!
Recent examples of how we use our funds include local support for the Welcome One Emergency Shelter, supporting missionaries like Angel Jones and Doug Mann, who we have heard from in our services in the past few months, as well as our Honduras Partnership. With this partnership, we have financially supported the building of 4 churches in the last four years in the capital city area. We have committed to support the building of one more church in this coming year, and will give $12,000 of our Faith Promise funds for this in the upcoming months. Another substantial way our Faith Promise funds are used is to support the endeavors of the broader Church of the Nazarene, who has hundreds of missionaries in over 170 countries around the world. We were not able to have our normal Faith Promise emphasis back in June to raise funds specifically for these missionary projects. Instead, we have communicated by letter and online to ask those who can to pledge again for the new year (June 2020-May 2021). At this point, just under $10,000 has been pledged. Last year, we had a great response, and over $80,000 was pledged. If you have not had a chance to pledge for this coming year, and you are able to do so, click on the "Online Faith Promise Card" button. |
